Baseball caps or warmer woolly affairs in winter are all well and good, but there’s definitely a certain something about a few of the more traditional forms of headwear — items that somehow hark back to a bygone era, when society and sensibilities were slightly different.
Or especially dissimilar in fact in some circumstances.

Amazing! This guy will be arrested in Germany!
I wonder if he even understand what is the meaning of that uniform…
Great shot, you catch the moment.
Lee says
Thanks. I had one chance, and luckily just about managed to get his head in the shot.
Yeah, there can’t be too many places where you could easily get away with walking the streets like that. Pretty sure he knows exactly what he’s up to wearing it as well.
Wilhelm says
I am sure he recognizes the uniform of a Hero! Why else would he wear it? Germany is the land of Jews now. That’s why it’s illegal.
Roger says
I can’t see what’s wrong with the first one.
The 2nd one made me LOL so hard my chest still hurts.
Lee says
There’s nothing at all wrong with the first picture Roger, I just used it as a way to build up to the second one.

Hello
it’s my first post but I visit your site since years.
Photo #2 remind me of on single sketch in a comedy show in Germany .

Kafkaesque! says
I seriously can’t get the second guy: What’s the point of looking like a nazi? Even, if Japan was Germany’s ally for a brief moment, doesn’t mean Hitler thought Japanese were any good. So it’s a bit weird, that he’s wearing a symbol of white supremacy. I don’t know, if he understands what he wears. I’m sure like 99% of Japanese have no clue, I guess it’s just ‘fashion’ for them. But if he’d walk in central Europe (especially Germany), people would definitely say something, if not become aggressive. In Europe it’s definitely an unpleasant image.
Wilhelm says
Not to everyone. To some of us, this is the uniform of heroes!
Kafkaesque! says
Btw, first guy reminds me of Takeshi Kitano or maybe like some guy from his movie 🙂
Yoli says
It would be very unpleasant if he walked around in that hat in the US.

Look this man in this other picture in the Yoyogi park: http://enekochan.com/2009/04/14/nazis-en-el-parque-de-yoyogi/
JJ's Japanese Idols says
I’m sure the guy in the second picture must not know what he’s doing, if he does I’d like to know more about his reasoning!
Bunny says
Here’s a shot I took of him in Yoyogi park. He seems to have mastered the Hitler-esque postures. http://www.flickr.com/photos/themystictraveller/3475202145/in/set-72157616540343574/
Gene says
Isn’t his cap way too small?
tokyoso says
Seems to me growing a little mustache can enhance his immaculate image a tad bit, to solicit more slurs, just a personal opinion.
ric says
This guy is famous. I also snapped him in Yoyogi park last easter

When I went to Tokyo two years ago I saw a full Nazi SS uniform that you could buy in Harajuku. I saw some crazy shit in Tokyo but I definitely did a double-take when I saw that.
Karasu says
Haha, he looks like if Orville Redenbacher and a big-headed Japanese woman had a kid, and then the resulting lovechild went on to steal hitler’s hat.

Ok Tokyo here we come! Glam rock fashions
Roberto says
anon says
It’s Luftwaffe uniform.
Wilhelm says
Um…no it’s not. Has no Luftwaffe insignia nor colours. But…looks like SS. Nice try though.
