For the longest time, this was my favourite old yakitori stall, but not anymore.
I’d seen the beauty below before, but only in the shade of bright sunshine, which didn’t do it justice at all. In the fading light of an early autumn day, on the other hand, it really did look its best. A little shop that has been serving freshly grilled chicken for 45 years. Another near half a century is hard to imagine, but with a younger family member now on board, many more years do remain a distinct possibility.

I hope the food is as good as the ambiance! How great that the next generation will keep it running
Lee says
Happy to say it was indeed very good. And yes, even better to see that is being run by a younger family member. Long may that continue.

So beautiful and welcoming! 🙂
Lee says
It really is. Nice in the daytime, but with those warm lights it looks even better. A very special little place.

If there was a beer vending machine next to it I’d be in Japan heaven!
Lee says
Haha, that really would be the perfect combination!

A great find. That yellow ambience is just right for it and I can see why you held back from sunny takes.
Interesting about the younger family member. The PrizMax poster shows some younger involvement – but even then they disbanded a couple of years back.
Looks like it might have some interesting graffiti on the shutters.
Lee says
Yeah, those light really do add to it. Closes early though, so had to get the timing just right.
Yeah, it’s something of a rarity to see a younger family member taking on a business like this. Well, helping out at the moment. Fingers crossed they do carry on with it.
Oh, not sure about that. Something to try and check out next time.

Hi Lee,
I’m curious. Why is this yakitori place no longer your favourite old yakitori stall — you found an even better one?
Lee says
Ah, not this one. I meant the one I linked to was no longer my favourite. Sorry, not very clear.
It’s hard to imagine finding a better one than this, but you never know.
