Lol, nice one 🙂
On the composition I just don’t know how you manage it. Here is a scene full of browns, whites and creams with an accent of blue and along comes the perfectly garbed subject. You either have extraordinary luck, endless patience, or an massive out-of-shot wardrobe and extras deapartment.
Whichever, the result you share with us is marvellous.
On the colour scheme, it would be perfect if a 1970s Sheffield bus went past resplendant in the inexplicably selected “Biscuit and Cream” livery they switched to at that time.
Thanks a lot, that’s very kind of you. Lovely when things work out like this. I’ve forced myself to be more patient, at least in regards photography, but if you pass a place often enough the chances are something will happen. Always liked this old shop front, but nothing has ever worked out on my numerous visits in the past, then finally it all came together. A very nice feeling.
Now that really would have been something. If I’d managed to get one of those in the frame I think I’d have somehow bypassed simple luck and gone straight up to wizard level.
In Nippon, the eldest age group is 65 years and over: 29.18% of the total population. You will be having more and more opportunities to capture moments like this one in the future.
So very true. That percentage is visibly obvious in the suburbs, and out in the countryside it invariably feels like it’s only old people who live there.
Yeah, there are lots of lovely little details. I like the pink cheeks too. One to many beers it would seem.
It is. A lovely bit of kit too. Just so nice to use. The M which I use though certainly isn’t for everything. Or indeed everyone. Manual focus does have its limitations. But for street photography in particular, it’s an absolute joy.

Very biscuity, but I also like the blues, the awning eyelashes and the pink cheeks!
Elliot Erwitt used a Leica too; a serious bit of kit.
