Tokyo’s glitzy Ginza district is mostly known for its expensive brands and flagships stores. A place where the rich go to buy, and the rest to browse.
At the weekend, however, when the main street is pedestrianised, some people go for a family day out, or to simply sit and chat. Plus, for a seemingly growing number of visitors, it also offers the chance to show off their preposterously sized or suited pets. A movement that may — or worryingly may not — have reached its nadir with this dog. A poodle that as well as wearing glasses, was also whizzing around in a remote controlled car.
Amusing.
And mystifying members of the public.
In equal measure.

If I could, with my black toy poodle, I would too!
Lee says
I bet your poodle wouldn’t be best pleased!

He now gets a evening ride in the park in the basket of my bike. Spoiled terribly! Funny what pets will do to you once the children are all grown and moved out!
Lee says
That’s funny.
Meow • Totoro Times says
I want to see the same, with rabbits!
Lee says
In Ginza, on a Sunday, you might well see it…
Jeffrey says
I haven’t been on the Ginza in a few years. Did they repave it recently with “pervious” concrete? In the photos above it otherwise has an odd bluish tinge to it.

I’ve no idea to be honest. In bright sunlight it does have a bit of colour to it, plus I upped the contrast on the photos. Whatever it is though, it does seem different than other road surfaces in the city.
Lizzy says
That is too adorable. If he’s anything like my childhood dog, he is just eating up all that attention.
Lee says
He did seem to like the attention, but at the same time he didn’t appear all that happy with the car.

Cuteness overload! 🙂
But I think it is so uncomfortable for this cute dog to stay put.
I wonder what will it like if is a cat?!
Lee says
The cat will probably be the driver next week!
Shizuo says
Sweet, that’s so funny @_@
mei says
the dog is so cute ! ><

I was just in Tokyo on business and saw that dog! I was standing on a subway platform and yelled at my coworker “Holy crap, there’s a dog riding a Power Wheels!”
