A great find and photograph. The untouched eye lips and ears give the horrific visage an almost peaceful look. A companion for a Japanese Dorothy perhaps.
But so many questions! Why there? What’s it protecting? What happened to the face?
I would imagine it looks a tasty snack with convenient perch to a crow.
Cheers. Yeah, the untouched eye in particular adds a lot.
All very good questions. Why there and what on earth it’s supposed to be protecting I really don’t know. Its face on the other hand is similar to others I’ve seen, so I assume it’s simply damage from the sun — day in and scorching day out.

While it scares the hell out of me, the question is how the birds react. Great photo!
Lee says
Thank you. Don’t know how birds react to it ‘cos I didn’t see or hear any, which perhaps suggests they have the same sense of horror!
Richard says
Good point! Thanks for such an interesting and unusual photo.

That first image really does lead all the way to the building on the right!
Lee says
Yeah, it really does. A sign, perhaps…
