Jun 01 2018 10 CommentsA Tokyo old lady: Bent double but still defiant Life must be tough, but it’s a life that’s still tackled head-on.

Lee says 6/1/2018 at 6:50 pm Thank you! Must admit I’m very pleased with the way this one came out. Saw her approaching, and for once people moved in a way that, like you said, really helped. So often they don’t, or worse the subject goes in a different direction! Reply
Harry says 6/1/2018 at 5:14 pm Very cool. I hope you moved. She looks like she’d totally push you out of the way if you didn’t! 🙂 Reply
Lee says 6/1/2018 at 6:51 pm Cheers. Haha, I did. She’s clearly dealt with way bigger problems than me! Reply
Crifingie says 6/3/2018 at 8:45 am Nice lady. Good photo. There is a S.H on her shirt. On a side note; Japan’s rice and fish based nutrition is one of the cause of bending. I read this somewhere on a medical forum about Japan years ago. Reply
Lee says 6/3/2018 at 3:10 pm Thanks. Yeah, could be her initials I guess, but old ladies fashion often has a good smattering of random English, so very likely just the latter. Yes, I’ve heard it was due to a lack of calcium in the diet, particularly so for people around this lady’s age. That certainly makes sense. Reply

Lee says 6/4/2018 at 8:51 am It was. Spot on. And yeah, the tourists, selfie sticks and pretty intense heat didn’t slow her down in the slightest! Reply
