Back in the summer, with the sun and his seat, this Simpsons-loving scarecrow looked surprisingly content with his lot (quite literally) in life. But now, with the greenery gone, and only the cold for company, he looks almost unsettlingly sombre.
Considering the age of most Japanese farmers seems to be about 118, the Bart Simpson top does seem a bit odd. Unless of course it was discarded by a great great grandchild.
I don’t know . . . he seems happier to me in these winter pictures. At least now he can get a good look at the world around him. Before he was quite boxed in and looking lost in a maze. (except in the first picture where it looks like he could have been reading something)
That’s interesting. Not only do we see emotions, or at least expressions, on the face of this scarecrow, but even different ones. If the birds also pick up on this ‘humanness’, then the farmer will have definitely done their job in regards protecting their crops.
Biggie says
haha, he looks so sad compared to the summer pics. I guess that’s how we all feel now; hoping for spring to arrive any day soon.
Lee says
Yes, but it could well be a while yet…
Peta says
Oh my, of all things to dress this “gaijin” in it’s poor Bart Simpson… This is wrong and funny in so many ways 😀

A very sad shot of a homeless former NOVA teacher. Well, at least he still has his chair and his memories of those halcyon years.

Bart’s expression seems so fitting.
Lee says
Yes, it does, doesn’t it? I hadn’t even noticed that.
