Towards the end of last year, I posted a set of photos of a day out in the mountainous and green far west of Tokyo. Travel a little west of the capital itself, and some of the scenery is also similar, so here is a series from a walk there last week. A long trek that just like the Tokyo one featured nature, the regular theme of time and decay, plus a decidedly out of the ordinary find.

I would love to know the story behind the hands. What a surprise to see them!
Lee says
I know eh? They are part of a temple complex. Hence the position of the fingers I presume. But why they are there I don’t know.

Thank you very much. It was a fascinating walk, and that house was really atmospheric with the light.

A collection that holds your eyes in a million places at once. So much to see. The first and last are the ones I like the best, which probably says more about my susceptibility to advertising than I would like.
Special mention to the hands photograph. I like to think Kenny Everett left them there.

Thanks a lot. There was a lot to see for sure, and I know what you mean about the first and last. As for the hands, a connection to Kenny Everett really would be something.
