It doesn’t quite exude the crisp high end high tech feel the firm would probably like it too. Then again, the one in our town closed well over a decade ago. I do have a soft spot for SONY – the CDP-101 was my first CD player (The first available IIRC) and who could forget this wonderful advert for the Bravia https://youtu.be/0_bx8bnCoiU – can you believe that was in 2005! No VFX used.
Not quite, but do like how the font used in the last shot is still the same as now. Or at least I think it is. Still looks very contemporary.
I do too. For me it was the original PlayStation. Topped only in my memories by the Sinclair ZX Spectrum when it comes to that kind of tech.
Ah, cheers for the link. Not seen that for such a long time. An incredible idea so perfectly executed. Merely an advert it could be said, and yet it is also so much more.
Yes, I think it will. Same for many of the shops there. A little block that’s like Tokyo from another time.
Thank you. Ok up to now. Just trying to stay as safe as possible, but with the booster a long way away, luck is going to play a big role as well I think…
I’m one of those people who’s owned far more Sony products in their life than Apple products. In fact, I’ve never owned a single Apple item! Sony OTOH… I had Sony Walkman, Sony Betamax video tapes, a Sony camera, etc.!
On a more general note: is this a shop that’s closed down because of the pandemic or long before then?
I’ve had a fair few Sony products over the years, but for a long while now it has only been PlayStations. Getting a new TV last year I opted for a Sony after my research, but then got to the shop and found that, being a domestic model, the menu was only in Japanese. Turns out they do with the cameras as well. So didn’t get the Sony in the end…
Can’t say to be honest as it’s an area I only just found, so no idea how long it has been closed. But with no lockdowns here, and restrictions only really on bars, I’d say the pandemic was a very unlikely reason.

Iām guessin no PS5s in stock? š
Lee says
Haha, probably not. Or maybe they did and completely sold out, hence the shutters!

That’s a bit different to the multi-storey store in Ginza.
Lee says
Yes, just a bit, although it was demolished. That said, a new building will go up in its place. Not so sure about this one…

That store may sit there like that for many years to come.
I hope you are weathering the Omicron surge without any serious difficulties.
