Japanese giants such as Toyota and Sony have been making all the wrong headlines of late with low demands for their products and the inevitable layoffs that partner such patterns. A situation that, along with all the smaller companies that will sadly succumb to the slowdown,
is surely set to send the number of homeless soaring.
A sorry band of souls that already get little in the way of sympathy,
or indeed assistance.
And with some citizens now intent on stopping them getting free sustenance,
their plight would appear even more perilous.
If indeed that’s possible.

Feel so sorry for these people. =(

Seems capitalism everywhere cannot exist without poverty and homelessness. The rich can only get richer if the poor get poorer; they buy new mansions while more poor wind up homeless and too often dead.
And the capitalists say this is how God wants it? What kind of god is that? They have created a false god in their own image to swallow down our throats as the homeless suffer and die needlessly. Their capitalism is just as evil as their false god, Mammon, the love of money. They worship money then; they love money more than the people they are killing to get it. Sick, sick, sick is this world we live in. Our species could do so much better if only the most wicked among us weren’t controlling the world.
Perhaps a real God will save us all one fine day; perhaps. In the meantime, all good people on this earth must do what we can to continue to love each other as the brothers and sisters we all are, and to help each other as best we can.

I passed by a homeless man wearing plastic shopping bags (in place of socks) on his feet on my vacation to Japan. I tried to offer him some socks, but he politely declined.

Growing up in Tokyo, I rarely saw any homeless folks …. but that all drastically changed when the first bubble busted in the late 80’s / early 90’s. Today, it’s not surprising to see hordes of homeless folks “resting” at city parks and etc. It’s quite unfortunate.

I migrated to New Zealand in recent years and I’ve noticed the homeless population on the rise here quite a bit lately too. There used to be a lot of help for these people but lately the attitude is more or less, they deserve it for not getting their act together. I can only imagine that in Japan, public attitude would be even worse, which is terrible for these poor folks.

Well apparently cruelty, selfishness, hate and blame are a universal attribute…And as always the victims have been trained to blame themselves like the rest of society is encouraged to do…This deeply embedded shame and blame seems to run deep in Japan. To stop being a victim, one could try having compassion for themselves and stop blaming themselves for joblessness, homelessness…All people of the world need to learn empathy, they could be next…And until it hits the majority, this won’t be happening soon…We are truely connected, this is not just a philosophical trite superficial phrase…We are, and love really is the answer, it really is, love for ourselves and one another, simple and true…Materialism is pretty evil, doesn’t last, seems to destroy and enslave it’s followers, we are all human beings here temporarily, and we need to get real, take care of one another, respect one another…If we do not wake up, as humans on planet earth, it will get much much worse before we are really fated to destroy all or most of humanity…If any are left, it won’t be the majority, or any good decent representatives of the best humanity has to offer…It will be the selfish materialist who will want to enslave anyone anything use use use in the name of power over others and hopefully they will cannibalize each other until there is no one left…How could something so good, so nurturing, so healthy, like love, empathy and caring for all be so destroyed????The homeless in Japan, should turn to the Buddhists, and whatever other religions left for shelter, care and food…Buddhist monks at least get fed by charitable Buddhists who respect monks as holy men and women…Test the good religious institutions who profess love peace and care for each other, make them put their money where their mouths are, and even Buddhist temples and the organizations have money….lots of it too…..
