Aren’t the sakura early this year? Spring must feel good if even the cats are enjoying a hanami!
Great exposure, btw, I usually blow out these shots relying on the TTL exposure.
Good question. Hadn’t even thought about it to be honest. But yeah, probably a bit on the early side. It’s certainly warm enough. 20 degrees or so the last few days. Hence, perhaps, the pearls!
Cheers. Likewise to be honest, but got lucky with this one. Had very little time to think about it due to everyone else looking for a similar shot. And for better or worse, a more spontaneous approach seems to suit me best.
Cheers. The sakura wasn’t in full bloom, but the wonderfully blue sky more than made up for it.
Looking like the middle of the week-ish will be full bloom here, although some trees are probably there already. Then the weather is set to change here as well. Hope yours arrive before the rain does!

Great colors, but love the pearls more! 🙂

Yeah, the pearls an interesting, if unusual touch!

Beautiful colors. The Sakura still aren’t blooming yet where I’m at in kansai. Hoping they’ll be in bloom before the rain:)

Wow, in Japan firemen probably rescue sophisticated cats from trees too.
Lee says
Haha, quite possibly. They perhaps coaxed it down with offers of a nice cup of tea and a cucumber sandwich.

That’s great!!!
Lee says
It was. My aim was to get something different from the standard blossom shots, and a cat wearing pearls is most definitely different!

Wow. The composition looks too perfect. Like it was set up for a cat calendar shoot or something. Good eye.
Lee says
Thanks! It was simply a case of getting in the right position and then hoping the cat would oblige and turn round. And fortuantely it did.
