Just like everywhere else in the world, times are tough in Tokyo, and as such, some people are prepared to do anything to, ahem,
get ahead.

Quite why I find mannequin scarecrows so mesmerising I don’t know. Maybe it’s due to the sadness they somehow exude. Or that sometimes they are simply sinister. Although more than likely it’s probably down to the strangely fascinating care the farmers take in regards their fashion.
Even if, when it comes to cosmetics, they are more than a little carefree.
Japan’s fondness for dainty and diminutive dogs shows no sign of fading, with miniature mutts milling about all over the metropolis. But having a canine that is considered cute is apparently not good enough anymore, with clothes and carrying contraptions deemed de rigueur — the former, in particular, now so normal that it’s increasingly unusual to see a not so big dog naked.
And then even when one does, it seems natural colourings clearly aren’t cute enough.
Considering that carrying a cat or dog around on one’s shoulders is seen as acceptable, then adopting the same approach with a rabbit is presumably just as appropriate.
And especially so it would seem when it’s the type of pet that, even when the owner is preoccupied with taking pictures, is perfectly happy to not only sit still.
But be patient too.
With the added bonus of this furry little thing being particularly adept at giving foreigners dirty looks for having the effrontery to fire off some furtive photos.
