Thanks. The build up and reaction to them is always somewhat over the top, but at the same time it is a special event. Along wth the blossoms, people seem genuinely happy and relaxed. Albeit briefly. So definitely a good time to visit. The only probles is the weather. Very unpredictable. But as this photo proves, there’s always one good day at the very least.
She has. Very cool. I wanted to get closer to get the reflection of the blossoms in her sunglasses, but doing so would have disturbed her, so I decided not to. A shame, but probably for the best.
Yeah, there’s a genuine — albeit brief — shift in attitude and general behaviour, isn’t there?. A few weeks when people are noticeably relaxed and seemingly far happier than usual. Pity more excuses can’t be found for the other 50 weeks of the year!
An afternoon nap on the grass under a canopy of Sakura blossoms, near a bubbling brook, on a sunny day – it doesn’t get better than that. There may be many things just as nice, but nothing better. Thanks for the daydream.
You are very welcome. It was a sight I was happy to both see and photograph.
Yeah, an awful lot is made of this brief period, but there’s no denying it’s genuinely beautiful. And given the right spot, an absolute treat on many levels.
Beautiful photograph. Brings back memories our time there last year. The weather was variable then too – on one day I got sunburn on the back of my neck and a week later we stood in Mitaka in a mix of snowflakes and falling cherry blossom petals. I’m just waiting for the hotel to open up bookings for next Easter.
Yeah, it’s generally a very mixed bag. I came home the other day with a rather pink face after being out all day. And yet it has been jacket and umbrella days on other occasions.
Hope you can get something sorted. It’s very noticeable how many more tourists there are these days, so it’s definitely wise to book soon.

Very nice pic. Beautiful in every sense! 🙂 I’m hoping to see them for real next year. It has been at the top of my todo list for way to long. 🙁

Very nice! It always surprises me how casual things get when sakura are the excuse 🙂
