He’s there regularly. Same doll, and lots of meticulously set up poses. Despite it being a very busy area, he doesn’t seem to care what other people make of him either, which is fantastic. But not sure he was all that pleased about having one of those carefully prepared shots meddled with…
Dolls, figures and the like are something I know precious little about, but adding networking technology to them certainly sounds like a smart thing to do.
That is a priceless moment you have captured though your lens. There are so many contrasts between the man, the doll, the girl, the photographer, and us viewers. I need a mindmapping app just to record them all.
Girl: I like that. It’s mine.
Man: This is not the doll you are looking for.
Doll: Lee, help me!
Lee: !?
I realize I should enjoy the shot rather than analyze to the nth degree, but….
There is an almost perfect vertical symmetry to this one. The little girl’s bow on her back, reflected in the backpack on the man. Their expressions and outstretched arms. One could almost draw a line straight through from top to bottom and imagine a mirror on edge. A very interesting shot.
It was a wonderfully odd moment. And as they were both — in their own way — equally enamoured with the doll, the similarities you saw are very good to hear.

Well, the pains of being a photographer. I believe that the next time this gentleman will prefer the security and comfort of a studio.

I love the way that the doll is looking straight to camera – perfect!

Cheers! That was one aspect I was very pleased with. I was trying to get an angle that involved everything, and luckily just about managed it.

The girl looks adorable in that outfit, brought a smile to my face.
Looks like they are arguing intensely on how to position the doll while the doll looks at you as if to say “help me!” 😉
Lee says
Yes, the doll really does seem to. Be seeking help, doesn’t it?
I walked away after taking the shot, but hopefully things ended amicably!
