No, it was just by the corner. Not sure why though. The sign next to it is for some planned road works, but I’m guessing that ‘s just a coincidence, as it looked like the policeman is there permanently. A bad/dangerous corner maybe?
Good to see you’re still blogging away Lee! I often wonder what would have been if i’d stayed in Japan for a few more years …. fun times. I hope you’re well mate and the family too!
Good to hear from you Neil! Everything is good here thanks. I hope the same is true for you and your new venture. If you do start blogging again, be sure to let me know.
I have not see this type of “policeman”. He looked so worn out.
I must open my eyes and look around for him.
Thank you for sharing this interesting picture!
Whilst I’m disappointed to not see the mascot of the officer’s prefecture (my brother in-law’s mascot is ã½ã£ã½å›) I’m more than impressed by his ability to levitate!
Having experienced typhoon Roke in person, I’m not surprised that a replacement took over the duty. What did surprise me was my mother in-laws insistence that a typhoon *never* spoils good Yakiniku and I’m sure the restaurant appreciated the business – if not the waitress who appeared to have bets on a quiet night 😉

the real police man is too lazy standing there
Lee says
It was during a typhoon too, so there’s even less chance a real policeman would have stood there!

What is the statue for? Is it outside of a station?

You’re more than welcome Winnie!
It’s the first one I’ve ever seen to be honest. Hence the photograph. I parked the car up so I could go and take a photograph!
