With Tokyo changing so rapidly, everyday scenes and moments feel increasingly important. Brief snippets of life (and lives once lived) that together seem to be the best way of capturing the often nebulous nature of the now. A now that possesses so much of the past, but due to those aforementioned changes, possibly very little of the future.
That perhaps isn’t the clearest of introductions, and likely I haven’t really got my idea across, but understandable or otherwise, here are the photos. Images that were all taken on a recent walk, and together make for a small series that may, or indeed may not, be greater than the sum of its parts.

Really nice set Lee. Great variety and colors.

Thank you very much. The colours definitely played a big part in these.

Thanks but it is bittersweet for me to see places that are not well cared for.
Lee says
There’s definitely an aspect of that in these. Interesting but sad at the same time.

Wow. That habitation with the clock, bric-a-brac and vegetation obscuring the entire facade is quite something. Thanks for sharing. Only in Japan as they say. And yes, I understand what you mean about the now/past with little of the future in these scenes.

You are very welcome. And yeah, there is a lot going on with that home. Not quite sure what though…
Cheers. Glad to hear you understood the point I was trying to make.

Wonderful as usual, Lee. The contrast between the first and second shots sums up everything you do in this blog, in my opinion. One boarded up, a piece of history, vs one still chugging along nourishing the locals. The weeds outside the closed shop compared to the (somewhat) cared-for plants above really caught my eye.
The third shot is fantastic. I can HEAR the “doozo”!
Also, great to see another Mini!

Thank you very much. That’s really good to hear. Such scenes and the passage of time have definitely become a key aspect of my work.
And yes, that mini. Such lovely colour as well.
