I saw an interesting discussion program on TV the other night. The panel was made up of a rather disparate group of individuals. Or as the program imaginatively billed them, a ‘generation jungle’.
The main topic of conversation was of the supposedly common practice among schoolgirls of enjo kosai. Or compensated dating to use its English (and rather polite sounding) translation.
Whilst I’m in no way a proponent of such behavior, according to the program, some of the cases are merely innocent dates. Well, innocent for the young girls in question. As they turn up, have dinner, chat a little, and then get compensated handsomely. I guess their companions motives are somewhat less innocent, and heaven knows what goes through their minds, but at least they don’t do anything untoward. Unfortunately not all dates act so chivalrously, and in many cases the young girls unfortunately do have to earn their money. But sadly it has to be said that they enter into such agreements voluntarily, many of them wanting the cash simply to buy new designer/brand goods.
Not surprisingly both the discussion panel and audience wholeheartedly condemned this unsavory activity. The selling of used underwear on the other hand, proved a more, ahem, sticky problem. One of the panel in particular was a vociferous supporter of the practice, claiming she gets at least 5,000 Yen (26 Pound) for each pair. That’s pretty easy money it has to be said. I have to admit, that in the unlikely event that somebody was willing to pay that kind of money for my (for want of a better description) soiled underwear, I’d be more than willing to help out.
Indeed, when it was put to the vote, a quarter of the audience decided that underwear selling, was, by and large, ok. Although which members of the audience voted this way wasn’t disclosed. Having said that, I dare say that it wouldn’t be difficult to work out.
So without further ado, let the bidding commence. How much for these?
So as not to mislead potential buyers, I must say that I am NOT a Japanese schoolgirl. Rather, a 34-year-old British male.

…do I have to cover postage and packing???…and when you say soiled – how soiled…and size is important – so are they big enough to keep a small family of refugees in?…and I’m actually a time waster, I don’t want your pants – and I really didn’t need to see them either :^)…

I KNEW I should have put up a “no time wasters notice”. For any serious bidders, I’d say they are only lightly soiled, and any postage costs will have to be covered by the buyer.

Have been reading your great posts. Keep it up.
