Good point Misty, but I’d be willing to take the risk!
I’m not sure of the street names in Ginza Chris, but it could be Ginza Dori or Chuo Dori. As far as prices go, it’s hard to say. But there again it’s not really the prices in relation to other places of the world, it’s the kind of shops there. Think of any overly expensive shop/brand, and more than likely you’ll find it in Ginza.
I remember Ginza during the holidays though….it was decorated so nicely. They had a HUUUUUUUUUUGE pink christmas tree in front of Mikimoto Pearls. I mean, HUGE. But really nice. There’s one section of street that’s lined with trees, and all the trees had little lights on them. Very New York, it seemed to me. Yeah, I think that’s what Ginza is most like- New York.
Yeah, Ginza really comes into its own around this time of year. Despite the numerous “attempts” at Christmas that can be seen all over Tokyo, for me Ginza is the only place that really gives off that Christmas feeling I’m used to experiencing back home.

I don’t think I’d ever bought anything in any Ginza store either. Maybe food.

Yeah, but once you do, you’d lose interest in it and it would become rather mundane.
Chris says
where is that? what are the prices like in us dollars for some things?
