Since posting the last and now long since lapsed Japan Unwrapped series, one post in particular has had a surprisingly lengthy life-span — the one, perhaps predictably, concerning Japanese girlfriends. Now, admittedly I’m not exactly inundated with emails on the subject everyday, but on a fairly regular basis, a male somewhere in the world feels the need to make it known to me how much he wants a Japanese mate. And, as if I’m some kind of whizz in the world of wooing, how they can go about getting one.
Hello,

I’m 26 and from India. I really want a sexy Japanese girl as my girlfriend. They are so lovely. Especially those with short skirts and a pretty face.

How can I get one?
However, quite why the Japanese female is such a fantasy figure remains a mystery, although it could well be because many of the images that make their way online are not unlike the ones below. But sadly, such, erm, sizzling smiles aren’t seen everyday.

And neither are such mesmerising mammaries.

Plus, even if such peachy posteriors were as predominant in public are as they are on the net, the method of picking one up for more personal appearances presumably can’t be pared down to a particular procedure.
There again, maybe I’m just grabbing the wrong end of the stick, as due to Japan’s fondness for fashion, and the perpetual preening and importance paid to appearance that partners it, the vast majority of the nation’s females are admittedly fairly fetching.
This then — giving the men who mail me the benefit of doubt — could well be at the heart of their feelings. A point perfectly proven by young Yuki here. As, while admittedly lacking the Photoshopped features of the beauties above, her meticulously maintained mien allows her personality to positively shine through.
An effect only added to by her heart-melting modesty.
Which presumably means the consistent arrival of mail looks set to continue, although for those with yearnings towards Yuki, I’m sad to say she isn’t single.
Sorry.

Laughed when I checked out the comments on the original post and saw how many of the guys were from India, they love J Girls but I’m not sure how many of them pull a GF out of it.

Dear guy in India,
This depends. How much are you willing to pay in shipping and handling? And are you aware the amount of loopholes one has to go through to FedEx a sexy Japanese girlfriend? Not to mention the amount of money we had to pay Lelouch to geass the girl into liking you? This will be tacked onto your bill, you do realize.

Note the appropriately named “Adam’s apple”? She is obviously a he, a Japanese version of the transvestite so common in the western US. As for the other images, somehow I too find many examples of Japanese woman exquisitely beautiful. I find the traditional styles of dress with the long, tied, hair down to the waist is particularly appealing. The smiling girl at the top of the page is a particularly stunning example of Japanese beauty as is the girl at the bottom showing off her bottom. I find a certain inexplicable affinity with Japanese culture that has no basis, for I have never had any contact with the culture. I find their preoccupation with militarism, particularly the swordplay, somewhat disturbing. (How many Japanese movies can you count that do not feature some image of a sword?) Slicing and dicing people and blood spurting from severed arteries presents a strange dichotomy to the delicate intricacies of the tea ceremony, yet there is a connection.
As a young lad, I grew up on various air force bases. When I was around ten years of age and long before I knew anything about the Japanese, I experienced a compelling, surreal image of myself walking out to a hanger on a WWII Japanese airfield. This occurred one late, rainy evening as I was walking past the hangers on an airbase in Texas. Suddenly I was transported to a rainy airfield that I inexplicably knew as Atsugi naval air station, though I had never heard the name previously. It was late evening and low hanging clouds over the airfield were producing a light drizzle. I was dressed in flight gear and there was no one else in sight as I found myself walking towards a single engined fighter, apparently a Mitsubishi type Zero, parked beside a hanger. I experienced an incredibly depressing moment as my heart was filled with an indescribable, overwhelming sadness in knowing that this was the end of everything. I was preparing for my last flight in the last aircraft on the airfield. Then as quickly as I had stepped into the image, it dissolved and I returned to the reality of being a ten year old boy on a Texas airbase. Funny thing though, to this day, some 48 years later, I only have to think of that moment to be transported back to that horribly depressing surreal moment at Atsugi.
