Seeing a kimono is always a treat in Tokyo, but this particular sighting was that little bit more special due its oddly calming, almost chameleon-like qualities.

Beautiful. So elegant even sat waiting for a train.
I’m kind of an authoritarian believing that all Japanese women should be required to wear kimono at least once a month. However, that is a rather drab kimono and the shawl is an odd accessory give the season.
Definitely on the subdued side, but in this context at least I liked it, as she sort of blended in. Agree about the shawl. Hadn’t even thought about it to be honest. But yeah, on a day approaching 30 degrees, it does seem more than a tad unnecessary.
Very balanced composition with the woman on the opposite side just off centre causing a nice tension.
You have the Seijin no Hi to look forward to in January with all the 20 year olds in their kimonos, just a matter of being outside the council hall at the right time with your camera ๐
Cheers. One of those rare occasions when everything was set up perfectly. Just a case of positioning myself and pressing the shutter. Easy!
Yes, always a fun day. I always try and catch those new adults out and about in an everyday places, but with less of them, such moments are getting increasingly harder to find…

Yes, a kimono pretty much always adds a bit of class to proceedings. As you say, even if that does only involve catching a train.

Cool picture. And indeed the symmetry of everything in this photo is awesome. Lots of straight lines everywhere. One of my favorites of recent.

Cheers. Very nice to hear. A lucky moment when everything was set up perfectly.
Always interesting to hear what kind of photos/scenes people like. It’s all so subjective that it helps to hear other people’s ideas and opinions.

Perfectly titled!

Thanks, I was pleased with that one.

I used to struggle with the titles, but was well chugged when I found a wity one. ๐
