Dreams of electric sheep perhaps.
She does look happy to be able to look out at such a nice day and from the reflection a reasonable view too.
You do manage to find some amazing sights to photograph.
That was certainly my reference point/inspiration.
I know eh? Really quite disturbing, and yet at the same time a pleasant expression.
Always amazing what long walks can offer up. The initial surprise of seeing someone looking out from the curtains became a much bigger surprise when it turned out not to be a person at all…
It was the same for us. I honestly thought it was a real person at first. And yeah, there’s definitely an old school horror vibe about it. Good for attracting attention, perhaps not so good for attracting potential customers.
In the second shot there is a great opportunity to place another mannequin facing back in the upstairs reflected window across the street. It would be very much in the style of a 70s Roman Polanski film. (And maybe a little bit unsettling.)
This shot reminds me of the book Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro. Longing for the sun to energize her and be able to see the world outside the confinements of the shop…

Ha, ha, ha!! Great shot, thanks.
Have you considered submitting this one for publication?
Lee says
Thanks a lot. It makes for quite a sight, doesn’t it?
I haven’t, no. Not sure where I’d pitch such a photo to be honest. Not sure Salon Weekly would be interested!

This picture gave me quite a start. I think I’ll pass on this shop. It reminds me of one of those old Wax House horror movies lol.

Now that really would be something. And more than a little unsettling I’d say.

Ah, only heard about that book during an interview with Ishiguro. Sounded fascinating, and even more so now.

Interesting read for sure!
