He looks very relaxed there. Good for him. Was it a restaurant?

Yes, he was. He seemed very familiar with the owner and his wife too (who weren’t much younger), so presumably a regular haunt for him.
It’s primarily a ramen place, but there was a lot of other stuff on the menu as well.

Yes. He did have a bit of a moan to the chef’s wife about his bad back, but otherwise he seemed very content.
