With the heat of the last few months now finally losing its intensity, here are some photos from Japanese summers past. Hot and humid days that were different in so many ways, and yet ultimately perhaps not that different at all.

I like the contrast of mood and themes. Great work.
You have such a deep portfolio and many of these are like old friends that keep revealing a little more of themselves each time you meet.
That Okinawa Tee-Shirt, the tarmac illustrations, the “POW” on the walking mans chest, the izakaya snack bowl on the step, the open wallet laying on the floor… they all add another frisson of reality, of being there.
Thanks a lot. Really good to hear they stand up to repeated viewings. Gives me a lot of confidence.
A few genuine faves of mine here. The pigeon one in particular. I’m glad I simply saw that moment, and it was made even more special to get a photo of it.
The edamame moment is indeed rather good. I’m left wondering though if the pigeon might be rather thirsty after sampling the izakaya snack bowl’s contents. I like how the left hand side is saved/balanced by the chair.
Don’t forget the swans; I like those too but they are all the best!

Thank you very much. The summers are long, and they often feel even longer, so a lot to cover.

Thanks for a palpable reminder of how oppressive the heat and humidity can get there. I always preferred aki bare!

Yeah, it really isn’t much fun. Had a lot of rain this year as well…
But yeah, autumn is lovely. Spring too. Just a pity they are getting ever shorter.

Quite possibly, but having seen some of things pigeons do eat, salty or not those edamame must have been like a gift from the gods!
Cheers. Some old favourites here that’s for sure.

Stumbled over a pic the other day googling for tattoos, that rockabilly guy is a little older now…

Ah, much more grey now. But, he still has enough hair for his style of choice. That must be the main concern.
