There’s a fair bit of street art in Tokyo. Some of it can be decidedly gritty, whereas other work is more whimsical — and this artistic take on seppuku is arguably somewhere in between.

Nice shot. Several interesting elements. The street art is cool too.
This was made by Spanish artist Pejac (http://pejac.es/outdoor/outdoor/)
The composition really makes me switch from the woman to the art and back, but in a good way. Just the art would have been interesting but a bit boring, the women is really interesting and together it make this photo work
Thanks a lot. I went in search of the artwork but was adamant that I wouldn’t merely photograph it. I had to get another element in the shot. And while I did have to wait a little while, I got something along those lines when the young woman appeared. I was pleased with the result, so glad you found it interesting.
Took me a fair bit of time to find it, but knowing it was in Shibuya, I knew I had a chance. His other work though is in Kanagawa and Chiba, which sadly doesn’t give me much to go on location wise…
I know that feeling. Did the same myself. Was just about to give up when I eventually found it.
It’s near Loft. There’s a little street just of Inokashira Dori (across from Zara I think). Turn right there (heading away from the station) and you’ll find it just round the corner.
Let me know how you go on, and if you still can’t find it, I’ll sort a map out for you.

Cheers. Yes, it’s very interesting, isn’t it? Went in search of it and luckily found it. Just before I was about to give up to.
Wanted to get more in the frame than just the art, and fortunately the young lady obliged.

Cool. Her shirt matches the flowers coming out of his wound.

That was an unbelievably fortunate coincidence!
