The on and off drizzle throughout the day wasn’t quite the weather I was hoping for. On the other hand, the wet roads and pavements, along with the pleasantly soft light, did make the varied colours of dated shops and urban flowers pop way more than they might have otherwise. A nice reminder, as I sometimes need one, that there’s not necessarily any bad weather when it comes to photography.

The matching blues in #1 are so good! 🙂

Thanks a lot. Very happy with how that worked out.

All of the flowers blooming almost everywhere you look in Tokyo right now are lovely. Check out Nezu Shrine for some amazing azaleas!
Lee says
Yeah, definitely lots of colours at the moment, and totally agree about Nezu shrine. It’ll be rightly very busy there over Golden Week.
Richard says
It was!! Along with Harajuku and Meiji Shrine….

Love quiet rain. O can feel nature pushing through the cracks in these photographs.
Favourite is the first – the blues the flecks of yellow and the reflections! How does Kirin Lemon have a (perfect) blue sign? That made me think of a song I came across recently called “Every Yellow Fades to Blue”. So many shop windows posters and signs turned blue by the sun.

Thanks a lot. That first one came out way better than I expected. From memory, the Lemon Chu-Hi does have a blue can, I think. Or partly blue at least. But yeah, so many posters faded by the sun. The political ones are my favourites, as they result in smiling, but increasingly ghostly faces staring out at the world.

Agreed, wholeheartedly. One of my very favorite photos of yours is titled Quiet Walk Home in Snow. These rainy day photos are nice, too.

Aww, thanks very much. Really nice to hear. Very fond of that snow photograph myself as well.
