The other day I posted several rooftop photos looking over and down into one of Tokyo’s many entertainment and shopping districts. It was a truly dazzling vision comprised of modern and mostly massive concrete structures. And yet not that far away in one of the city’s older suburban areas, life at ground level feels a million miles away rather than a mere 30 minute journey.

So colorful!

Yeah, the old lady’s garden in particular was bursting with colour. Clearly a well looked after little garden.

Amazed by these photos as well as thoroughly appreciative of them. Thanks, as ever, for sharing, Lee.
Reckon few people would be able to ID them as pics of Tokyo. 🙂
Lee says
You are very welcome. Glad you enjoyed them. I certainly enjoyed taking them. And yeah, it’s far from the usual image of Tokyo that’s for sure.

Nice to see some flowers growing in the midst of such housing density!
Lee says
Yeah, and what flowers they are. I assume that little garden has been well tended for many, many years.

Love the pink pajamas hanging on the line
Lee says
Yes, me too. Not a lot of privacy in this part of town…
john says
They could double up as plant watering devices too!
Lee says
Haha, that’s very good, and also very funny!
Scruffy says
That’s hilarious! Low-tech drip watering system….
john says
The ‘inspector of blooms’ has a suitable low profile ‘camo-flower’ top but it is offset somewhat by those ‘watering can’ blue socks.
I was momentarily thinking of your previous vending machine photos when I saw that flower flanked ‘vanish fire implement’ box.
Lee says
She really does. Be nice to think she has different coloured outfits for the different seasons.
Must admit it surprised me when I saw the resultant photo. It seems a lot bigger than it is actually is, and yeah, not dissimilar to a modern Coca Cola vending machine.
