Last month I posted some east Tokyo night scenes. Quiet and peaceful little vignettes that are a world away from the busy streets and much brighter lights of Shinjuku and the city’s other entertainment hubs.
This short series then is similarly tranquil. The only change is it focuses on a different neighbourhood’s dated shops and their enticing lights rather than the area in general. A gentle walk on a mild early winter evening that turned out to be way more pleasing on the eyes than expected.

Thank you. I agree. They really are special. Ordinary, and yet at the same time, extraordinary.

Lovely,…especially the floral store. THANKS!
I hope you have a Merry Xmas.

Yeah, they are wonderful little places. They made for a very enjoyable walk.
Thank you very much. And you too. Have a wonderful Christmas.

Your photos make me think that I really should spend (more) time in eastern Tokyo on my next visit!
Lee says
Yeah, and with so much of it disappearing, there’s even more reason to do so.

Just lovely, Lee. I could hang out at the first/last one all afternoon. They could serve tea, too. If not for you, I’d never see any of this stuff. Thank you, and glad tidings to you.
