The simple, solitary pleasure, of painting?

For a lot of people, landscape painting offers the perfect opportunity to get away from things for a little while. Plus, weather permitting, there’s also the added pleasure of some solitary time in the sun.

But, in a group-centric society, others, it would appear, still prefer to paint in packs.

This is like photo-hunt or photo-walk for a group of photographer, ya? Only this is paint and canvas instead of camera 😀

Yeah, definitely. To be honest, seeing groups like this painting isn’t unusual, although it is the first time I’ve seen the members, with so much space available, all crowded together in such a small space.

Yes, I think so. Either that or a painting group.

The guy in the blue coat and the woman in the white hat have the best facial expressions. I’d love to see a shot of what they were looking at.

It was the different expressions that I liked. They are all so close together, and yet at the same time they all seem to be in completely different worlds.

No pictures of what they were painting I’m afraid…

Have you ever seen the Red Dwarf episode “Back to Reality”? It looks like they’re acting out the car-chase scene!

    Hi all:
I think people is more or less same in all parts of the worlds, because here, in Spain, there is also people who likes painting in the parks of the streets.
I would like some millions of japanese persons could come in Spain, and Japan could develope Spanish economy. I would like a Spain with 47 milions of spanish and 47 milions of japaneses, but like Japan, in the first position in the world.
    Saludos desde España.

Hi, this is my first comment, I just discovered your fantastic blog and I am reading back all the post… this one strike me particularly, as I am a landscape painter from Italy, and defenitely in love with Japan, many of my paintings are about Japan…
I would love to be among that group for a painting session!
