What a great find. That faded sign looks so intact for its apparant age, and looks to have been hand painted rather than printed.
My translation App is stuggling though asserting that the old sign is for a company specializing in rubber goods, the lower sign indicating a shoe shop that sells original dancing clogs and one of the small signs is suggested to say “Mancoin special 100 Yen”
It’s quite something, isn’t it? Can’t say for certain, but I’m pretty sure it’s an original sign and not one made to look older. To be honest, I initially thought that the awning and sign might be from different generations (or lives) of the shop, but the name matches, so presumably just a shop that sells a varied array of goods. Umbrellas too, which is where I’d like to think the old lady bought hers.
I should have had a look in to see if they were sticking to the original business model, but the umbrella connection was enough. I did not want to be disappointed.

Cool old store. Is it big or is the lady very small?! 😉

It’s a great place, isn’t it? That’s a good question. A bit of both I think!

It is a shoe store. 履物一式 (hakimono isshiki) is footwear in general. ゴム履物 (gomu hakimono) are probably tabi (split toe socks) with rubber soles.

Looks like a sign I would have seen in 1970 when I lived in Tokyo!

Yes, definitely. Likely a good while before that too.
