Wow! It looks like this has been drawn one of those construction walls they put around a building being put up or torn down. Is that what it is? Or just on some building? Either way great.
Cheers. Yes, that’s exactly what it is. A huge department store was pulled down, and these walls are round the edges. There were just a couple of Akira pictures at first, but there are a lot more now. Definitely a good way to use all that white space.
Wow, what an amazing moment to capture.
There was a building site in Shibuya that I saw some similarly large scale Akira art decorating back in April – It was a single image of Kaneda on his bike with AD2019 lettering. If it’s the same place looks like they have extended it some. Hope it’s still there next April.
I’d seen him near one of the other pictures, and just hoped something interesting might happen. Very happy I waited!
That’s the exact spot, only there are a lot more pictures now. Not sure what they are building, but it’s a huge site, so I reckon there’s a very good chance it’ll still be there in April
Looks like that is to be a Parco complex.
The whole redevelopment plan is quite staggering.
As someone who loves looking down on Tokyo from a height I’m looking forward to some of these becoming reality.
Thank you. Very happy the way it worked out. Thought the best I’d get would be him in front of it, but even then I didn’t expect to get a shot. So to have him there, and with his arms out, was very nice to say the least!

Yeah, it really is. The building work seems to have been going on forever, but considering the changes they are making, that’s not surprising.

but just look at the state of those bushes!

The suggestion of nature returning after all that destruction — perhaps!

Thanks. Definitely a photo I’m happy with. One of those lovely moments when the timing was just right.
