As drinking spots go, it’s arguably about as welcoming as the looks.
Despite the less than salubrious settings, this is actually a popular area for those whose drinking sessions go well beyond the standard evening. No last train dash for these boozers. No first one back in the morning either. Instead, it’s much more like a mid-afternoon mosey home. Excesses that understandably can leave some participants a little worse for wear to say the least. Examples of which can be seen here, here and here.
On a site related note, I’ve made a few changes over the weekend, implementing some redirects, and rather more importantly, HTTPS security. So if you have Tokyo Times bookmarked, you can change the link to https://www.tokyotimes.org, although the old address will still work just fine.

Hehe, you sure like this place don’t you but I’m not sure they like you! 😉
Lee says
Yes, I really do. Very often there’s someone of interest there. They were ok actually. Well, after the initial surprise, anyway!
Harry says
I’ve gotta say, that would not be where I’d choose to drink! Did they say anything to you?
Lee says
Initially, yes. They said I shouldn’t have taken the photo. But when I apologised and walked past, they asked me to sit down and drink with them. So all good in the end.

Another interesting group of characters in this inexplicably popular spot.
No eveidence of alcohol though. The patrons look fresh and alert, aside from the one guy with is head down, and even he looks more like a sleepy commuter. Not that I have any clue what else they would be doing there.
Lee says
They were an interesting bunch for sure.
There was plenty of booze actually, but it was on the table in front of the person with their back to us. They were all really drunk too, but yeah, apart from the fella passed out, they looked remarkably fresh. They asked me to join them after the initial suspsicion, and the man on the left offered up one of their drinks, but I politely declined. It would have taken an awfully long time to catch up with them!
