I misread your headline as ‘Itching, inexorably, to the end’ and, considering I couldn’t see what the man’s other hand was doing, it made perfect sense. It reminded me of the story of the boy coming down the stairs in the boarding school where they weren’t allow to hold the brass banisters in case they tarnished it: “Take your hand off that, you dirty boy” yelled the Priest up the stairs. So the poor lad took his hand out of his pocket.

Haha, that’s funny. Hopefully that wasn’t the case in the photo. Although it was a long escalator…

Well, it looks like at least you can go either way on these escalators of life, sort of a Buddhist reincarnation thing that is going on there.
