There’s possibly only one thing worse than standing around all day trying to hand out promotional material to people who don’t want it, and that’s standing around all day trying to hand out promotional material to people who don’t want it while wearing a panda suit.
And especially so when it’s one so positively perky looking.
Simon says
Cute, but I prefer the far more scary version in the Egyptian Panda cheese commercials. “Never say no to a Panda”
Lee says
Never seen that. But I certainly wouldn’t say no to a panda!
To be honest I thought this one was coming to give me a leaflet, or worse, but luckily some more potential punters arrived just in time.
Biggie says
I’m not a violent person – at all – but those suits brings out the worst in me (not meant as criticism of the picture itself) 🙁
Lee says
That’s funny! They don’t bother me, but the dreadful jingles and ads that are often on loop in shops and especially supermarkets really get on my nerves. How the staff deal with it hour after hour, day after day, I honestly don’t know…
Marc T says
My favorite is when the promotion is for backing/insurance/etc. and available or relevant only for native Japanese. Then the person handing out the flyers just turns their back to you!
Lee says
Yes. I was in Nagoya one time, and having come down with a cold I asked a woman handing out tissues for a packet. And not only did she refuse, but the way she reacted you’d think I’d asked for her first born…
Tiger Tsuki says
If nothing else, at least the person in the costume doesn’t have to feel mortified that THIS is their job and people might recognize them!
Lee says
Very true.
gunmagirl says
…and those suits would be warm, especially on a day like today…
grant says
that is thin panda.
Matt says
I think it works. I’m much more likely to take tissues from a Panda. Especially one that looks so up beat.

Reminds me of a Tsuki no Koibito episode. That might be keiko kitagawa in there!
