It would seem that mild weather and fully blooming plum blossoms provide the perfect opportunity for a skirt, colour coordination and a carefully crafted coy pose.

Priceless Lee, just priceless. My favorite chuckle of the day.
Haha, maybe. Although to get dressed up like that and deep down surely know you aren’t fooling anybody, must take absolutely massive ones! He’s a brave man.
Oh my goodness, you were there!
I’m on a short holiday in Tokyo now and was at Yoyogi that day. I saw this happen – and judging from the angle of your picture, I was probably somewhere right behind you!
No way! I bumped into a friend shortly after taking the photo too. Small world eh?
I saw the person setting up a tripod, so waited. Didn’t want to make it too obvious, so I pretended to take a few shots of the tree. Not sure how convincing I was though. But regardless, I got the shot I was after. Did you?
Sadly, my timing wasn’t all that great (was a tad too distracted by all the cute dogs in the vicinity) so I didn’t get a good photo of this scene. But it’s ok. If I ever want a reminder of it, I can just come back to this post! 😉
Some of these ニューãƒãƒ¼ãƒ• are astonishingly pretty and convincing, this is not one of them. I guess some people prefer it this way, oh you kinky Japanese 😀
Yes, how convincing some are varies enormously, doesn’t it? Fair play to him though. Convincing he isn’t, but it doesn’t stop him being out and about and doing his thing.
That is one striking photograph.
The acceptance, at least in public, of challenging individuals such as this is one of many positive facets of Tokyo I’m discovering.
The subject draws your attention and encourages introspection on your own values/assumptions/tolerances.
You are quite an artist with your lens.
Yes, for such a conservative country, there are a reassuring range of eccentrics out and about. And whilst they may draw more than a few looks, they are left to just go about their business hassle-free. It’s nice to see.
OMG LOL & here’s why: for whatever reason, the image was slow to open when I hit it, so the top third resolved first – to about the bang line of the dark haired “lass” so coyly standing there; face not visible. A couple seconds of pause, then bang! The entire picture imaged, and I nearly fell out of my chair. Hah-hah!
Not only a great shot of Sakura, but a contemporary iconic one too. Modern times…

Your photos are amazing. Love the matching flowers-shoes-gloves-lipstick combo in this one!
Lee says
Thank you! Yes, it was very well thought out. Clearly a lot of effort went into it.

The question is, would you ever want a reminder?!

Thank you. And yes, it really is, isn’t? Times are most definitely changing.
