Rainy season really isn’t pleasant; not by any stretch of the imagination. It’s wet, obviously, but doubly so due to the rising humidity, making the words damp and dreary very much the order of the day.
Yet even on a particularly wretched morning, it’s hard to know if this man was a bit fed up due to the weather, work, or with someone taking his photo.

I know that feeling……………..

Yes, so do I.
NihonBurp says
Yea he certainly has the “I’m going to kill that photographer” look.
Lee says
He does, but actually the look had nothing to do with me. I’d noticed his morose expression and was waiting for a gap in the pedestrians to photograph him, and just as one opnened up, he looked straight at me.
Still can’t quite decide if that was a good thing or not.

That is my trouble with photographing strangers – I feel that I am invading their personal privacy. I think that is why I spend more time photographic inanimate objects.
Lee says
Yeah, it is tricky. I always try and be as discreet as possible, but it’s not always possible to remain unnoticed.
As I mentioned in the comment above though, this was interesting as I’d spotted him (or more accurately his expression) from quite a distance away, and he only noticed me just as I pressed the shutter. All the time never changing his expression.
Yet from the photo, you’d never know, and more than likely assume something very different. I like that aspect of it. I think.

why their using transparent umbrella?
Lee says
They are cheap, basically, and pretty much available everywhere. Useful for riding a bike too, as it allows the cyclist to see where they are going. Sort of.

I detest the weather in Japan from, usually, late May until the middle of October.
Lee says
Yes, give me autumn or spring weather anytime.
winnie says
He seem to be wandered or walking in daze in the crowd yet you can still managed to capture him in his natural expression.
But it is very interesting shot!! 🙂
Sometimes, I will have this type of expression too when I feel like Monday Blue!
Lee says
Thanks Winnie. Yes, he did seem to be in his own little world. Sometimes the best way though if you have a busy commute to deal with.
