The shadows are so deep.
This location was a real challenge to find. I started with the Super Hotel sign in the background. I figured their can’t be that many. Well, around 20 in Tokyo it turned out. And I looked at all of them. More than once. But eventually I found it. It’s amazing how much the 7-11 loses it’s identity in a black and white photograph. And the no entry sign just vanishes without the red.
I like the guys coat, and the sharpness of the womans shoe shadow to the right. I think he’s tasting the sunshine myself.
A striking photograph, and a good half hour’s entertainment for me vicariously roaming the streets of where I would like to be right now.
That sounds like a voiceover in a P.I. film noir :o)
Not sure if I would entitle that image ‘A thousand shadows deep’ or ‘A Chargeman Ken moment’, either way, it is a tactic I won’t adopt to avoid a street snapper now!

Oh, I can agree with that dude, the crowds in Tokyo get on my nerves after a while and I’m always glad to go to the countryside 🙂

I know what you mean. Most days I can deal with them, but now and again I just want to be as far as possible from them…
D. says
Me. Everyday! 🙂
Lee says
Hope you feel slightly better at the weekend!

I know exactly how he feels. It’s been one of those days
Lee says
Likewise. Well, one of those weeks…

Glad to hear you found it. And enjoyed doing so.
The woman disappearing into the shadows on the right is a part of the photo I really like, so good to hear you picked up on that.
There’s a relatively short window when the light shines down that street, so I was pleased to capture it lighting up some interesting people.

Haha, does a bit, doesn’t it?
Yes, probably for the best. His behaviour only drew me in.

Starbucks customer?
Lee says
Quite possibly. His anger at being sucked in — again.

He thinks his tongue tastes like charcoal. #charbucks
