For a nation of devout shoppers and bargain hunters, early January is nothing short of a gift from the New Year gods; the abundance of sales creating the perfect opportunity to rein in those inevitable back to work blues with a serious bout of retail-related therapy.
But, just like in all other aspects of life, there are no guarantees, and going home terribly disappointed is clearly still a distinct possibility.
Dave Powell says
Great shot. I still need to learn how to shoot people as they are walking toward me and get in focus. My tend to always be out of focus if I shoot this style.
Lee says
Thanks!
Pre-focusing is the way to go. A bit of practice to nail your preferred distances, and then it’s simply a matter of composition. And of course interesting subjects!
Al says
That’s my standard shopping expression! 😉
Happy New Year!
Lee says
Likewise, and that would be on a good day…
Thanks. You too. All the very best!
Matt Talbot says
She’s probably disappointed she bought that hat.
Lee says
Haha, hadn’t thought of that!
June says
Or Shoe Plaza didn’t have her size.
Lee says
Yeah, quite possibly. The pleasure of finding something you like, only for the shop not to have it stock/your size.
AF says
Streets are experts at surprises. It is like having to expect the unexpected. Today I went out and found a woman washing with water and soap the bodies of male and female mannequins in front of the store. I couldn’t help thinking how unexpected that was. Sometimes we find good surprises, other times it is only sad surprises, strange ones, bad ones…
Lee says
Yes, that’s the beauty of the street. You never know what’s round the next corner. Often nothing, but sometimes something special.
