It comes as a bit of a (culture) shock every time I visit Japan to find how smoking cigarettes still seem to be very much an accepted thing there. To be honest, I’m not so against smoking outdoors but smoking in not only bars but breakfast places and sushi restaurants threatens to drive me nuts!
Yeah, itโs certainly still accepted more than it is in many other countries. It is changing though, albeit slowly. Even some little mom and pop shops now have no smoking signs.
