It’s amazing how many houses in this area are being demolished and replaced by the likes of Daiwa homes. Comfier places to live for sure, but they are very quickly changing the character of the old neighbourhoods…
Totally agree, although I must be honest and say I’d rather live in one of them than an old, wooden place. They may look interesting, but in winter they must be cold beyond belief.
I hope Mrs cdilla and I are as happy together when we are that age.
If it were me I’d be making some comment about the house looking as if it had crash landed on a witch and all that was left was the orange pointy hat and the broomstick.
The old city suburb houses made of single layers of metal and glass look horribly cold though. Some films I’ve seen, (like Adrift in Tokyo and Josee the Tiger and the Fish) feature such places, and whilst brimfull of character, I’d trade up to a bauhausian shoebox with cavity walls in a flash.
Yeah, likewise. They look interesting, and their patchwork nature definitely gives older parts of the city genuine character, but they must be absolutely awful in winter. Probably not much fun in summer either…

I do hope so!

Ugly boxes for the most part. “sexy” house is just as bad. Tsukiji is along the same line.

Kinda sad yet they look happy……
Lee says
Yes, they did. It was nice to see. I got a very cheery hello when they passed as well.
