It’s probably not much of an exaggeration to say that the Japanese are obsessed with food. Trips, TV, and traditional events often seem to be based solely around eating. And whilst perhaps not devoured to quite the same degree, the nation isn’t all that averse to new technology and gadgets either.
So it seems perfectly natural that the two should be combined. And what better way to do it than with some sushi USB memory?
For anybody tempted, the SushiDisk comes in two sizes. The 128 MB model will set you back a steady 8,200 yen (42 pounds), and the smaller 32 MB version a more reasonable 6,000 yen (30 pounds).

This is hilarious. Do you know where to purchase these? Even as I was looking at it, I was wondering HOW it would fit into my computer. Maybe the roll would do!

Lol you just plug it into your usb drive haha. those are awesome i cant believe they actually make those. Watch them come out with 1 gig sushi lol lol

Alex, you might be able to buy them online at the site I lnked to. Although it’s all in Japanese. They must have them in Akihabara though.
The thing is, I thought one of the main advantages of USB memory was how small it is. Yet these people come along and defeat the whole purpose by sticking a huge chunk of sushi shaped plastic on it!
There again, if I saw one I’d probably be tempted to buy it…

I think the reason that usb is so convienant is that a drives are becoming less and less popular and with usb the transfe is quick and unlike cd you can just plugg it in and you have got it.
